Seiko Skyliner Sea Horse 1965 Vintage Man's Watch, 6122-8000, Stunning, Serviced

A near mint, stunning and rare example of this 1965 Seiko Skyliner. It is in near perfect, excellent and original condition. The dial is near mint. The hands are superbly finished to the standard that Seiko has became renown for. So too are the index markers. The perspex glass is new, replaced is the overhaul. So is the strap, quality genuine leather, Duraflex brand. The 6222 manual wind movement is one of the engineering marvels that helped create the reputation for excellence that Seiko has deserved to this day. It has been professionally overhauled/serviced and I confidently guarantee it for 90 days. This Seiko Skyliner represents an important chapter in horological history, it is rare, in near mint condition, all original and beautiful. It ticks all the boxes for the serious collector. Included is the box, pictured. So I have started adding a photo of the movement, disassembled ready to go through the cleaning machine. All old dried up lubricants and anything else that shouldn't be there is cleaned away. Then, it is reassembled, lubricated, adjustments made and regulated. Water resistance and accidental damage is not guaranteed. A vintage mechanical watch will not perform like a modern quartz (electronic) watch.

Also, with age comes fragility and it may no longer be ideal as a daily wearer. It should be treated for what it is, something old, classical and special. Treat it as you would a vintage car - not ideal to use as a "daily driver". Keep it in the condition at which you bought it and it will hold or, indeed, increase its value. Use it every day and it will go backwards.
